CuteCue Privacy Policy

1. Information We Process

To provide these features, CuteCue processes:

• 1–3 pet photos that you voluntarily upload;
• Your pet's name and your preferred name or nickname;
• Companion assets generated from your photos;
• Settings such as language, floating widget preferences, and rest reminders;
• Processing results and task status required for image quality checks and generation.

Please try to upload photos that contain only your pet. Avoid uploading images that include people, IDs, addresses, screens, or other private information.

2. How Information Is Used & Third-Party Services

Your uploaded photos are sent to Google Gemini services for the following purposes:

• Checking whether the photos are suitable for companion generation;
• Analyzing your pet's visual characteristics;
• Generating personalized companion assets.

To produce a clean, transparent-background widget, the generated companion image is also sent to Replicate (the BiRefNet matting model) for background removal. Replicate only processes the generated image and never receives your original photo.

CuteCue does not use your photos, generated assets, or settings for any purpose other than providing the features described in this Policy.

If we add or replace any third-party service providers that process user photos in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy accordingly.

3. Data Storage & Deletion

The following data is stored locally in your browser:

• Uploaded pet photos;
• Generated companion assets;
• Your pet's name and your preferred name or nickname;
• Language, floating widget, and rest reminder settings.

CuteCue currently does not provide account systems or cloud synchronization.

You can delete your current pet data through: Settings → Delete Current Pet Information. This will remove:

• Uploaded pet photos;
• Generated companion assets;
• Your pet's name and your preferred name or nickname;
• Generation-related data associated with the current custom pet.

After deleting pet data, your language, floating widget, and rest reminder settings will remain, allowing you to continue using the default pet or set up a new pet later.

When you upload and configure a new pet, the previous custom pet photos and generated assets will be replaced.

4. What We Do Not Do

CuteCue does not:

• Collect your browsing history;
• Read or analyze webpage content, form inputs, or account information;
• Use your photos, generated assets, or settings for advertising;
• Sell your data;
• Share your data with advertising platforms or data brokers.

When the floating widget or rest reminders are enabled, CuteCue only displays companion UI elements on webpages and does not read, collect, analyze, or upload webpage content.

5. Browser Permissions

To provide CuteCue's core features, we use the following browser permissions or capabilities:

• New Tab Override — Replaces the browser's New Tab page with the CuteCue companion page, displaying your pet companion, time, and companion messages.
• Storage — Stores pet photos, generated companion assets, pet names, preferred names or nicknames, and settings locally in your browser.
• Content Scripts — Used only to inject and display the floating pet widget and rest reminder interface on webpages. This capability is not used to read, collect, analyze, or upload webpage content.
• Notifications / Alarms — Triggers rest reminders at configured intervals after you enable reminder features.

We only request permissions necessary to provide the current features and do not use them for purposes not described in this Policy.

6. Data Usage Restrictions

CuteCue's use of user data complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

We only use user data to provide or improve user-visible CuteCue features. We do not use user data for personalized advertising, and we do not sell user data or share it with advertising platforms, data brokers, or other data resellers.

7. Policy Updates

If CuteCue's features or data handling practices change — for example, if we add cloud sync, introduce new image processing providers, or modify storage methods — we will update this Privacy Policy and revise the "Last Updated" date above.
